Research interests
I am interested in a relatively large variaty of research topics, mostly dealing with reptiles and amphibians.
My main research activity is channaled twords ecology and systematics of snakes , especialy, vipers. I am currently working on or completing several studies on the adder (Vipera berus), the meadow-viper (Vipera ursinii) and the nose-horned viper (Vipera ammodytes).
Romania is a country in which faunistical studies, for example, are still very important and needed for conservation purposes, due to the fact that large regions of the country still remain uncharted. Even if these types of studies are not that apreciated at an international level and some scientists may consider them a waste of time, at least at a national level, I consider them to be vital for conservation. Therefore, I consider these activities to be one of my most important responsabilities.
